www.hollywire.com/wp-content/u…On the cusp of turning 18, Monique is generally bored with life. She could go to college, but she doesn't really feel like it and her parents aren't really pushing her to - not that they've had many conversations about it, Monique's parents are divorced, independently wealthy and spend much of their time traveling around with their new significant others. Monique doesn't mind, really. She has all the liberty that every other teenager craves.
And it's getting boring.
She isn't stupid, she doesn't do hard drugs, just smokes like a chimney and drinks from time to time. You'd think everyone at school would be lining up to be her friend, with all that she can do and get away with and the toys her parents buy her to make up for never being around, but she doesn't play the usual high school games either and hasn't really bothered showing up to her last semester much anyway. Graduation's in the bag, she's not planning to walk. Her parents won't be there anyway.
She's smart, sarcastic, suffering from heavier than usual adolescent ennui, and still has the fearlessness of a child who hasn't learned about mortality yet. She was bound to get into some kind of trouble eventually.
